Melissa Jane Goodwin - Born 4th September 1990.

We
like to start children working early round here!, seeing as the pits
won't take them any more you have to find work closer to home. She
actually made lots of trips up and down that plank, she could even turn
round at the top and come back down forwards. (Don't tell the Union, but
I didn't pay her anything either).
This picture was taken shortly before her second birthday. |

Melissa at her Grandma's house.
This
picture was taken when she was about 13 months old, the teddy bear used
to belong to my younger brother - it's lasting well, he was born in
1962!. |
Melissa
aged 10, this was scanned from her School photograph taken at the start
of her year 5 term. This was scanned using my new Agfa 1212U USB
scanner. |

Melissa
receiving her Black Belt Certificate from Sensei Ramsdale on 30 June
2001. New Spirit's youngest Black Belt so far, she was only 10 years old
and still in year 5 at school when she achieved this!. Coincidently, the
gentleman in the background is Gordon Marshall, New Spirit's oldest
Black Belt. |

  Melissa
has a busy life, she now does Ju Jitsu (Belt Black 2nd Dan - Cadet
Nidan), Piano Lessons, Swimming Lessons, Flute Lessons, Singing Lessons
and Bass Guitar Lessons. During the 2003 summer holidays she took part
in MusicX2003, run by Donut Studios (where she does her singing and bass
lessons). This was a weeks course with a collection of 40 youngsters who
were split in to bands, based on their musical interests. From Monday to
Thursday they worked writing songs, then on the Friday they rehearsed
them at the Springbank Centre followed by a performance on the Friday
evening before around 250 spectators.
Melissa
was in a six piece band called 'My Big Green Apple', they wrote two
songs themselves, where Melissa played keyboards, and covered a third
song, 'Life Styles Of The Rich And Famous by Good Charlotte', where
Melissa sang the vocals. Considering the six members had never met
before that week it went extremely well, and was followed the next week
by a day in Donut's 24 track studio, recording the tracks to CD. MusicX
is an annual event, and they are all looking forward to next year. |
